How to enroll

Tournament:

This tournament is an open event. The athletes who got 1st place in past all Japan championship can't register to this tournament.


The athletes of any nationality can also participate from each country. The number of athletes of each divisiton( age, belt, weight) is not limited in each academy.

Medals are given to the following competitors.

- 8 people or more in the division
1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place

- 3 people to less than 8 people in the division
1st place and 2nd place

- 2 people or less in the division
1st place only

Qualification as athlete:

a. Participants have to be in a good condition without any infectious disease.
b. Foreign nationals living in Japan have to register with JBJJF and present the ID card every time they compete.
c. The athletes who got 1st place in past all Japan championship can't register to this tournament

How to enroll:

The method of payment is only through credit card.
The registration fee for the tournament is as follows:
Adult:  
If you register by February the 2nd, the registration fee will be 5,000yen
If you register after February the 3rd, the registration fee will be 6,000yen

Juvenile: 4.000yen

The deadline for registration is on February the 9th at 11:59PM.

- Foreign nationals living in Japan need to have a 2012 JBJJF ID card number upon registration.

Registration Check Day:February the 14th at 13:00PM.

The athletes list will be up on the official JBJJF website on February the 10th.
Please confirm that you registered with the correct age division, belt color, and weight class.

If you would like to make changes, or cancel your registration, please send
a Request Form by February the 14th at 13:00PM.


In order to request any changes or cancellation, any of the following conditions have to be met.
a.

If you cannot find your name in the entry list, or the information there is not the same as the one you registered with, you can ask to make modifications or changes.

b. If there is no competitor in your division or even if there are any, and they are from the same academy, you can change your category or cancel the registration.
c.

After JBJJF accepts the requests from a&b, we will put up the tournament bracket according to the changes and cancellations. If your request is not clear, it will not be accepted.

d.

The refund will be sent to the athlete after the tournament is over. The handling fee will be the responsibility of the athlete. In order to recieve your refund, please send a Refund Form within a week from the date of the tournament. JBJJF will not accept a refund request after this time.

e. If you have no matches due to the cancellation of your competitors, you can withdraw from the tournament and ask for a refund of the registration fee.

Tournament brackets will be available February the 15th or later.
Schedule will be available February the 17th or later.

Important note:

a. This tournament will abide by Brazilian Jiu-jitsu rules set forth by IBJJF.
b. We will not refund the registration fee in case of an athletes' injury, personal reason, or the athlete not having a proper ID card etc.
c. In case you have to cancel your registration, please let JBJJF know as soon as possible. We may have to refuse your registration in the future if you did not notify us.
d. If we find any false information in your registration, you will be disqualified from the tournament as well as any other future events.
e. Please understand that the copyright of the tournament and all the rights will be solely owned by JBJJF.
f. We close the registration when we reach the limit to the number of participants allowed. Based on the number of participants in the age group and category, we may have to cancel the open weight class (absolute division).

Athletes' guide:

a.

Please check the order of your match in the tournament bracket up on the wall at the tournament site.

b. Please enter the mat areas when called upon by the tournament official, and then present the ID card, do the Outfit-Check(Gi or rashguard and shorts), and weigh-in.
c. A weigh-in takes place only right before the 1st round of the tournament. You will be disqualified from the tournament if your weight is over the limit.
d. If you do not show up when called upon by the tournament official through announcements, you will be disqualified from the tournament.
e. If you come in or out of the mat areas by stepping over the fence, you will be immediately disqualified from the tournament.
f. You can hydrate yourself after weigh-in; however, drinks have to be kept at the designated place.

Male

You have to register both your weight class and the open weight class in the same age group. For example, you cannot compete for your weight class in the Adult group and compete for the open weight class in the Master group.

(athletes born in 1995 and 1996)
Adult White/Blue/Purple/Brown/Black belt
(the division is open for everyone)
Master White/Blue/Purple/Brown/Black belt
(athletes born in 1982 and before)
Senior 1 White/Blue/Purple/Brown/Black belt
(athletes born in 1976 or before)
Senior 2 White/Blue/Purple/Brown/Black belt
(athletes born in 1971 or before)

Female

 
Adult White/Blue/Purple/Brown and Black belt
(the division is open for everyone)
